wire sculptures by Keysook Geum

These intricate sculptures are by Keysook Geum and are made using paper wrapped wire, gems or beads and sometimes silk. Geum begins by twisting and bending wire two dimensionally until patterns emerge and from there allows the wire to push and pull out until figurative shapes take form. I will be making these using a floristry technique I learned up on my floristry course at Bishop Burton College, with a serious message delivered through installation and the feminine aesthetic.
